I have a few ideas in my head for some new styles of handmade leather dog collars. I thought I might put these ideas to paper - so to speak.
Patent Stripe
This would be a leather dog collar based on my patent stripe browbands and nosebands. A standard traditional leather dog collar with an inserted piece of patent leather. I can't make a collar entirely from patent leather as it is too thin in substance. Therefore the strength will need to be in the normal bridle butt leather that I make all of my
dog collars and leads from. A section of leather will be cut out from the back of the collar and trimmed down. The patent leather is then wrapped over this insert and both pieces are pushed back in to place.the inside of the collar will have to be lined to hide all of this.
Let me know if you are interested in this collar and I will do you a deal!
The second idea is a lot simpler. use a 1 1/2 inch (38mm) West End Roller buckle with two prongs to make a traditional collar with. A customer has also requested putting the dee on the opposite side of the collar to the buckle, so that might be another idea.
Another idea is to make a traditional leather dog collar but with a solid brass loop instead of a leather one.
Have you got any more ideas? If so
