At Oakside Saddlery I make traditional, handmade, bespoke leather goods that are designed to last. Everything is made by hand; from the first cut to the final polish. Stitching is carried out by hand using traditional, two needle saddlery stitching. An old process that is much, much stronger than a machine stitch. Each stitch is individually made using a hand waxed linen thread and the strength of my two hands. Sedgwick English Leather

I only use JE Sedgwick's, World renown, Full Grain, English Bridle Leather.

Full grain leather is the best type of leather and uses the full thickness of the hide. The cut I use is the Butt. This is the best and most expensive, cut of leather from the hide. Supple, hard-wearing, and strong with a superior finish and the provenance to prove it.

Simply the best in British hand finished leather

I hand stitch all of my handmade leather items. This is carried out using a traditional, two handed saddlery stitch. This style of stitching is very strong as each individual stitch passes completely through the leather to the other side before making the next stitch. This takes time and patience but makes for a much more individual, hand crafted item.
